Agri-cation CIC: Growing Futures, Cultivating Confidence, and Celebrating Community

Nestled in the heart of rural Wrexham, Agri-cation CIC is no ordinary community interest company — it’s a vibrant hub of opportunity, education, wellbeing, and transformation. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds with the land, with themselves, and with each other. Whether it’s through farming, food, outdoor learning or wellbeing, our mission is to plant seeds of change — and watch them grow.

Last night, our site was abuzz with energy as we hosted the Wrexham Community Business Awards evening, bringing together corporate partners, small organisations, and supporters to share the Agri-cation journey. It was a celebration of hard work, community spirit, and genuine impact.

We were incredibly proud to showcase our recent achievements, including winning the Next Generation Award and the prestigious British Farming Award for Diversification in 2024. These recognitions reflect the innovation and heart behind everything we do — especially our commitment to making farming and rural education accessible and inclusive.

One of the highlights of the evening was a powerful talk from Caroline Platt of Platts Agriculture, a valued sponsor and advocate of our work. We’re also grateful for the support of TIMAC AGRO UK, who this year are helping to fund our work with a young person who is currently out of school. Through Agri-cation, he’s now thriving in an agricultural role — a real success story in the making.

Our evening event also saw the introduction of Rob from Canopy Collections, the creative mind behind our outdoor classroom. Rob is now running woodworking sessions specifically for women, helping them build skills and confidence in a traditionally male-dominated craft. These sessions are already proving to be a hit — blending practical skill-building with wellbeing and connection.

Groundwork has been instrumental in supporting our journey this year. Thanks to their funding, we’ve delivered multiple courses, including one of our most impactful to date: Wellness in Wellies. This innovative programme helps people build emotional resilience and reconnect with nature.

It was through Wellness in Wellies that we met Macy — a young woman whose courage and talent have inspired everyone involved with Agri-cation. Macy is non-verbal, lives with frequent seizures, and currently uses a wheelchair. Despite significant challenges, she joined us to build confidence and reconnect with the world around her. Along the way, we discovered her incredible talent for baking. Last night, she ran her first cake stall under her brand Dreamy Delights, and the response was overwhelming. Her story is one of strength, creativity, and the power of community support.

Our reach goes beyond individuals — we’re also empowering schools. One standout example is Saltney Ferry, the first school in Wales to have its very own on-site farm, fully supported by Agri-cation CIC. Their work has gained national attention, and we’re proud to support such forward-thinking, hands-on learning opportunities for children.

In addition to our agricultural programmes, we’re committed to wellbeing and inclusion. This Saturday, we’re launching a Menopause Support Group, offering a six-week programme for women seeking connection, advice, and encouragement during this life transition. We also run yoga and holistic wellbeing sessions through Purple Moon Wellbeing, with more events being announced regularly on our Facebook page.

Agri-cation CIC is also passionate about tackling unemployment and disengagement. Our Nature Connect programme helps people who are out of work or education reconnect with purpose. Through land-based skills training, emotional support, and one-on-one mentoring, participants are supported to step back into education, training, or employment. These are not just courses — they’re life-changing experiences.

We’ve helped school refusers find confidence, young adults gain qualifications, and unemployed individuals re-enter the workforce through engaging, practical, and therapeutic experiences outdoors.

At Agri-cation CIC, the field is always open — for learning, healing, growing, and thriving. Whether you’re a child getting their hands dirty on the farm, a woman learning carpentry, a school launching its own food-growing project, or an adult rediscovering self-worth — this is a place where everyone can flourish.
