At Agri-cation CIC, we’ve adopted Breedr, a brilliant farm management app that has completely transformed how we manage our cattle and day-to-day farm operations. This software allows us to easily record and track the weights and performance of our beef cattle, cutting down on heaps of paperwork, such as movement books and medical records.
One of the features of Breedr is its integration with the British Cattle Movement Service (BCMS), meaning all our data is automatically transferred to them, so there’s no need for us to contact them separately. The app also keeps track of key details like days on the farm, birth registrations, calving records, and sends us alerts when necessary, making cattle management far more efficient.
Additionally, Breedr’s field mapping feature has helped for managing our rotational grazing, helping our staff stay on top of the rotation schedule.
Its trading section is also fantastic for connecting with other farmers and building a stronger farming community, which we feel is absolutely needed.
We’ve been able to show visiting school groups, volunteers, and guests the real-world importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) in modern farming. Breedr perfectly demonstrates how embracing technology and Lean Six Sigma principles can drive smart farm management.
